Port-Vendres and fishing

The
fishing is an important element of the city. With more than 4000
tons of fishes fished and commercialized , Port-Vendres is the first
fishing port of Oriental |
Pyrenees.
The equipments administrated by the chamber of commerce and industry,
include a computerized auction, installations for the reception of the
fish and a hall of mareyage. In the course of the years, this economic
activity became a trump for the touristes. Indeed, with his nets and the
boats, the fishing delivers to Port-Vendres a typically south decoration,
but unique in Roussillon. |
