Museum of the french Algeria
The museum of French Algeria preserves the memory of a century of history. Sheltered within " Redoute Béar ", you will discover two monuments
repatriated from Algeria: " Sidi-Ferruch's monument " and a stele symbolizing the union of the two populations made by "Emile Gaudissard". Inside the museum, photos and original texts will immerse you in the daily life of Algeria from 1830 till 1962 (Agriculture, industry, schooling, health). You will also discover that Port-Vendres had robust links with French Algeria due to tourist and commercial relations. Finally a part of the museum is dedicated in " the army of Africa " and to the rich military patrimony.
